Blogroll updates (and a new project)
I've done a lot of work on the Red State Rebels blogroll (at right) over the holidays. You'll notice that I've given it a geographical orientation as follows: Neighbors (bloggers from the Boise area, including a few from the Republican side of the aisle); Idahoans (bloggers from other parts of the state); Northwesterners (bloggers from Oregon and Washington state); Westerners (a handful of blogs from the rest of the West); and National Netroots (major blogs that are working toward transforming Democratic politics in the United States).
I've also added a section (at left) on Small-d democracy. As passionate as I am about Big-D Democratic politics, I am even more committed to small-d democracy: ensuring that every citizen has a voice and abundant opportunities to be heard. The organizations and individuals in this part of the blogroll are working to make that happen. I've been working with one of them (the Study Circles Resource Center) since 2002 and hope to expand this work in 2007 through my business Write the Change.
As 2007 begins, I also am happy to announce a new "hobby" of mine, The Boise Bus Blog. It's mainly a site for users and advocates of public transit to share their experiences and ideas to make better public transportation a reality in Southwest Idaho. Have a look.

Julie,
Can I suggest you include a link under national netroots to www.electoral-vote.com. The site isn't technically a "blog" but it is an excellent site for electoral politics and will be invaluable in '08 for following the latest non-partisan polls.

Irwin, that's a good point.
I think I actually will add a separate section on the 2008 race. Even though I am nowhere close to ready to spend much time thinking about it, other folks clearly are. I'll do that soon.

*Waves* I know I don't update often, but my New Year's resolution *is* to write more, and since I've moved back SpudZeppelin.com is a Boise-based blog....

NPJA, I'd love to add Spud Zeppelin (great name ...) to the blog roll. If you write there half as much as you comment here, dude, I will! ;)
