Idaho bloggers honored

The Northwest Progressive Institute has bestowed its 2006 David Neiwert Awards (named for a former Idaho journalist now writing in Washington) to honor the region's best blogging last year. Among the honorees: yours truly for Grassroots for Grant, cited as Best Campaign Blog, and Alan at Idablue for Best Electoral Commentary. 43rd State Blues got an honorable mention for community-driven blog.

Wow, congrats to all!

Congratulations, Julie and Alan! Of course, I'm disappointed I didn't get an award for my "Bill Sali and the Underpants Gnomes" post ( http://bubbleheads.blogspot.com/2006/09/bill-sali-and-underpants-gnomes.html ). I guess that's what I get for not being progressive.

It's good to see your excellent work acknowledged and honored. Even though blogging can often feel unrewarding, folks like me come to look forward to reading your blog, in my case daily.

Possibly the best campaign blog in the nation, which puts you high in the running for best world wide; that's something to be proud of.

Thanks, everyone. Grassroots for Grant was a lot of fun. I only wish the election results had been different. We tried!
