The Idaho Democratic Party is still collecting signatures - more than 3,000 so far - on its petition to ask Gov. Butch Otter "to show his support for Idaho’s most precious natural resource – the people of this great state – by refusing to de-fund and dismantle vital programs such as Head Start, Parents as Teachers, Teen Pregnancy Prevention, Suicide Prevention, and other related community resources." If you haven't done so yet, you can sign it here.
Update: I messed up the link to the petition before. It's fixed now. Also, Irwin provides a link in the comments to another petition worth signing - one that asks the G8+5 world leaders - meeting next week in Germany - to get serious about climate change.

Click on my name for another online petition to consider signing. This one addresses the leaders of the G8 who will be meeting for a climate summit from June 6-8 in Germany. It encourages them to embrace bold steps in reducing carbon emissions by immediately setting binding global targets.
Given the present administration's antipathy towards these goals, it is vitally important to demonstrate to them that this issue is of critical concern to the typical American citizen. Pass it along to friends and family for their signature.
