Julie, remind me and I'd love to attend!! ;)

Welcome back, Julie.

Did you notice that a Camp Obama is also scheduled for Boise on Aug. 18-19? This is significant. I've spent two months trying to convince the Obama folks that Idaho is "in play" and should be a destination for the Senator himself. It's still a long shot ("GREAT chance" might be an exaggeration), but I believe the more enthusiasm they see coming out of ID, the more likely they are to consider a visit by the candidate.

And yes, Pengilly's isn't the largest venue possible, but I'd rather be crowded and feel good knowing that we're supporting an establishment owned by Dems ;-)

I'd be surprised if he came to Boise, at least before securing the nomination. When he comes here it is for closed events, private events, scripted events, everything but an open event. And this is an early caucus state. But I've been wrong before.

The last event he did was a private house party that required a $1000 donation to his campaign to get in. A few of us stood outside in 115 degree heat for 2 hours and he did come shake our hands and say hello. Some candidates wouldn't do that so he got some points for that in my book.

Jessica, stay cool there in Las Vegas! And please disclose that you are a strong Edwards supporter. Thanks!

Brian, good job on pulling this together. No, I didn't know about Camp Obama. I've been out of the loop, dude! Is there a link to info on that?

I plan a catch-up post on other upcoming events today or tomorrow, so I can add that as well as the Ada Dems golf tourney ...

Jessica

I support all of the Democrats. :)

Yes, it's true. Obama may not come to our State. He has little time and a major campaign to wage across the country. But he leads in recent polls here in Idaho and a victory at the Feb. 5 Caucus would show how far his message of hope stretches across the United States. Give it a chance. If we show the support is here, I believe he WILL make a pit-stop in a Red state that is beginning to flicker BLUE. Show there is a chance. Join us on Monday at Pengilly's to make it clear to the Obama campaign and the rest of the United States that we are ready for change.
