Two things to think about as you go to church tomorrow:
This past week, on a 308-116 vote, the U.S. House reauthorized the global AIDS program to provide drugs and treatment for AIDS, malaria, and tuberculosis abroad at a cost of $50 billion for five years,or about a tenth of what the war in Iraq has cost us so far. Bill Sali and Mike Simpson both voted against the bill, even though 78 other Republicans joined all the House Democrats in passing it.
Idaho is the ONLY state in the country that doesn't have a professional team to investigate what happened when a child dies unexpectedly. A bill was introduced this year that would have funded such a team at a total cost of 43 cents per resident per year. The House passed the bill 63-5, then Senate Health & Welfare Chairwoman Patti Anne Lodge killed the bill. Lodge is the same person who let a day care licensing bill die in her committee. Dan Romero is the Democrat who will end her death grip on this Nampa-area seat in November.
my only comment is the title could also read ..
Suffer the little children ... needlessly and repeatedly ...
