Congratulations to Boise's own Kristin Armstrong, who took the gold medal in the women's cycling time trial in Beijing yesterday. She's due home Friday; here's hoping the city will put together a fitting welcome for our hometown Olympic champ.
Anyone have any Kristin Armstrong stories? She's been associated with the downtown Boise Y for years, and I always get a kick out of seeing her locker, just one of many in the women's locker room. And word is she practiced for the Olympics using a Foothills course that mimicked the one she'd face in China.
Here's to Kristin, as well as to history's winningest-ever Olympian, swimmer Michael Phelps.
I know YAY Kristin, I was so excited to see she met her goal!
