Via Hotline On Call and Western Democrat comes the not-unexpected but still-great news that the Mountain West will host the 2008 Democratic National Convention.
Hotline's Marc Ambinder mentioned that the selection was fraught with "labor pains," a nod to the relatively anemic union presence in Denver. There also have been concerns whether Denver can raise the moolah to stage the $50 million event. But Howard Dean apparently believes Western Democrats' steadily rising fortunes will translate to enthusiasm and strong backing for the event.
Here's the official party release. OK! Who's with me for a road trip next summer?!
I am! I might be moving to Boise in May, if I can land a job there!
