RSR's very own Blogmother headlined a workshop on Blogging as a Business today at the New Organizing Institute's Bloggers Summit in Washington, D.C. She did a terrific job, natch, and had a large group of bloggers from around the country hanging on her every word. There was a vigorous amount of Q&A flying back and forth, and the discussion was a great success.
She does, however, talk a lot with her hands. Must be a Canadian thing.
(This is Julie writing ... I am just hoping to get all this funky white space outta here ... we are having a great day here at the Center for American Progress. In addition to the blogging-as-a-business panel, we've had lively discussions on how to better support bloggers of color - there are about a dozen here - and how to keep building the sort of progressive media infrastructure that the Republicans have enjoyed for decades. The mere fact that funders were willing to fly several dozen of us from all over the country to DC and put us up for two nights is a good sign. ...
I had a great walk at sunrise today, mostly down to the Mall - where I'm wondering if an Iraq War demonstration is planned for tomorrow - and on to the Lincoln Memorial. We're just a few blocks from the White House, and there's talk of getting a group photo down there, with all of us looking at our watches ...)
Definitely a Canadian thing.
