Twin Falls County Democrats held their annual picnic on July 26 at beautiful Centennial Park in the Snake River Canyon. Over 80 people attended the event, including Larry LaRocco. LaRocco had spent the earlier part of the day at the airshow in Twin Falls. James Ruchti legislator from Bannock (district 29), presented Twin Falls County Democrats with a check for $600. He commended the efforts the committee has made in the last year. Local candidates from legislative district 23, Mike Ihler, Bill Chisholm, and Peter Rickards attended. Peter had donned a t-shirt depicting his arrest in Glenns Ferry. Also in attendance: Scott McClure candidate from district 26 and Dave Maestas. Strings Attached played, courtesy of Mike McCarthy.
The annual picnic raised over $1100 in addition to the generous donation of $600 by James Ruchti.
Great turnout, Twin Falls! I had to find out what Peter R's T-shirt was all about, and did so here:

According to the story, "Rickards was charged with trespassing and battery at an information meeting sponsored by Alternate Energy Holdings, the company that wants to build a nuclear power plant near Mountain Home."
Turns out the Mountain Home News is selling Ts with his picture. Good to hear Peter is having fun with this. He's been one of the state's top nuclear watchdogs for as long as I've lived here.

P.S. I seriously miss Centennial Park. When I lived in Twin, I tried to get down there once a week or so on my lunch hour to go kayaking. What a gorgeous place. I hope you had plenty of shade!
